11/2/25 We ordered 1 Himachali's Favourite for Rs 150 and 1 Tibetan breakfast for Rs 125. Total was Rs 275. The food was good. I tried Tibetan tea for the first time. They said they make it with the original method. It was good. Chhole were not available, so they served aloo sabzi with Tibetan bread and aloo paratha. They didn't inform us prior to serving food, as we got to know after we got the food because it was mentioned chhole but we got aloo. On asking, we got to know. Chhole or aloo are normal sabzi that we eat on a regular basis. The Tibetan bread and aloo paratha were different. Masala tea was delicious. Tibetan bread was good. It was a little bland as they don't apply butter or ghee on it. It's served that way only, but I took a little butter from the aloo paratha. The interior seems like they're still working on it. It was nice, and the seating arrangement was also nice. They have seats on 2 floors inside and outside both. We chose to sit inside on the floor mattress, as it was cold outside. They don't provide a bill until and unless you ask. We found this cafe while visiting Dal Lake. It was a good experience visiting this cafe. We had breakfast. The people are sweet there, the lady who takes the order and the boy who sits at the billing counter. They greeted and talked nicely and also told us about the food.

Cafe Dechen is a regular restaurant for my family and a popular hotspot for the local villagers around Dal Lake. My picky eater kid enjoys going here too. Every dish on the menu is always delicious, and the staff are very friendly. My favorite dish is the vegetarian Thenthuk, and the Thakali options are also very tasty. Today, I ordered the vegetarian Chowmein. My kid used to love the chicken fried rice and chicken momos. For the travellers & families looking to create memories at Dal Lake, I highly recommend this place for dining out. Always thank you so much for having such a good restaurant in our village.
